Botox in the chin

The chin can develop an excessively dimpled, pebbly or orange peel (peau d’orange) appearance. This is due to the hyper-contraction of the chin muscles (called the mentalis muscle), which, over time, can result in superficial lines and wrinkles permanently etched into the skin. It will also give a witch-like look to the chin, creating a deep horizontal crease between the chin and the mouth. Botox® injections are the quickest and simplest treatment to smooth this area and prevent further wrinkling by relaxing the chin muscles.

We are proud to offer what we call pain-free BOTOX®. One of the biggest concerns that we hear about from our patients is their fear of discomfort with the injections. If the thought of pain is bothering you, you can rest easy with our help.

Dr Bong is well known for performing virtually pain-free Botox® injections in Glasgow, thanks to his unique skills and expertise and the ultra-fine needles imported from South Korea. These needles are so delicate that treatment is less painful than plucking your eyebrows!

Our affordable Botox® injections in the chin include a follow-up review after two weeks to ensure you are delighted with the results.
Dr Bong is an international trainer who mentors other doctors and nurses for many of the procedures offered at Essence Medical. In addition, he is widely recognised as an international expert, having been invited to speak at international conferences in over 60 countries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Firstly, you should schedule an appointment for a face-to-face consultation with our cosmetic doctor to discuss your concerns and desired outcomes from this procedure. Dr Bong will listen to your concerns, examine your muscles carefully, and establish if you are suitable for this treatment. Our terms and conditions can be found here.

Prices include a review appointment (if clinically indicated) that takes place two weeks after your first treatment.

The rising demand for non-surgical cosmetic procedures has increased the number of people offering ‘Botox treatment’ and other treatments at incredibly low prices. Whilst this might sound like good news for you. Unfortunately, it is far from it.

Non-surgical cosmetic procedures are costly for excellent reasons. The expense involved in using quality products, providing exceptional service and meeting the necessary safety requirements is significant. To meet these costs, quality practitioners have to set their prices accordingly.
To offer ‘cheap Botox’, these practitioners are unlikely to invest in any of the above. When offering cheap treatments, the cost of provision must be minimal to profit.

Cheap (and fake) ‘Botox’ is freely available online, often from China, where there are no manufacturing standards. Purchasing cosmetic products from outside the UK may be illegal. The only way for an injector to know that a product is authentic and approved by the UK health authority (MHRA) is to order it directly from the manufacturer or an authorised distributor. These imports faceless government scrutiny than those that have met the strict requirements of MHRA.

Anything imported illegally and bypassing the authorised supply chain means we have no idea how it was handled, transported, or stored. And when improperly held, the products can degrade and lose their efficacy.

The first rule is not to go to cheap or unqualified practitioners as the injectors may cut corners. Practitioners who do not invest in research, training, the environment they work in, care standards, and protection should things go wrong are an accident waiting to happen. There are risks involved in non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and side effects and complications are more likely to occur without the necessary safeguards. Some cut-rate injectors operate by doing work at or below cost in the hope that you will stay on later at the total price. But others curb their losses by overly diluting the products, minimising their effect.

It is not advisable to have Botox® injections when pregnant because there have been no large-scale, long-term studies to assess the effect Botox® has on a developing baby. However, as the amount of Botox® administered is small, localised and will not easily move to other areas of the body once injected, the risk of it harming your baby is minimal.

We accept cash or the following major credit and debit cards. We do not accept personal cheques.

Please note for all patients, a £50 fee will be charged if you cancel or reschedule ANY appointment (including appointments which do not require an upfront deposit, such as a ‘check-up’ or review appointment) less than 48 hours before the appointment time. Patients who have pre-purchased a course of treatment will forfeit one of the treatments instead of paying this fee.

Late arrival to your appointment may result in reduced treatment time or the forfeiting of the appointment. We will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs on time. However, for reasons beyond our control, we may need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice. In this unlikely event, we will try to contact you in advance. We do not offer compensation if we cancel or postpone your appointment.

Please read our full terms and conditions here.

We respect that your time is valuable, and we appreciate that you understand ours is too. Unfortunately, if appointments are cancelled or rescheduled at short notice, or if you do not attend an appointment, we cannot allocate your appointment slot to someone else; however, we still have overheads and staff salaries to pay. Please read our full terms and conditions here.
