JAWLINE SLIMMING WITH Botox®
Achieve Oval or Heart-shaped Face
Attractive Oval-Shaped Face
An overly square jawline is usually the result of overdeveloped masseter muscles: the muscles attached at the angle of your jaw and control your chewing. If you tense them a great deal – or grind your teeth – they become more pronounced and produce that strong, masculine jawline.
Changing the shape of the face from square to a more attractive oval shape can add a gentler graceful appearance.
Jawline slimming injection with Botox® selectively weakens the masseter muscles over time, leading to an overall reduction in the size of this muscle. This treatment allows for changing the shape of the face without a scalpel, pain, swelling and zero downtime.
Bruxism
Many men and women suffer for years clenching or grinding their teeth, which is an involuntary movement we cannot control. 70% of grinding and clenching happens at night when we sleep (ask your partner/spouse) or while we drive the car or watch TV. We do not realise it. This is called Bruxism. The majority of Bruxism patients have no awareness of it.
This causes a hypertrophic growth of the masseter muscles resulting in a broader and overly square jawline.

An overly square jawline is usually the result of overdeveloped masseter muscles: the muscles attached at the angle of your jaw and control your chewing. If you tense them a great deal – or grind your teeth – they become more pronounced and produce that strong, masculine jawline.
Changing the shape of the face from a square to a more attractive oval shape can add a more delicate, graceful appearance.

Jawline slimming injection with Botox® can create a natural, subtle improvement to the area without any downtime or potential complications. On the other hand, jaw reduction surgery can cause sensation issues, dental alignment issues, and the potential for pain along the TMJ area. Therefore, jawline slimming injection is one of the treatments for TMJ discomfort.
There is no pain with eating. However, we recommend the restriction of gum chewing, chewy candies, tougher meat products, jerky meat products and cuttlefish as they can promote masseter fullness.
We recommend the following treatment regime:
- Second treatment four months after the first treatment.
- Third treatment five months after the second treatment.
- Fourth treatment six months after your third treatment
After the above treatment regime, most patients maintain the results with a 6-monthly repeat treatment.
Yes, since the masseter muscle will not shrink (atrophy). Instead, this treatment will change the physical mass of the muscle and make it less prominent.
Patients with a neuromuscular disorder such as Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome should not have this treatment. In addition, pregnant or breastfeeding patients and those with active dental and skin infections should also avoid this treatment.
Both your consultation and treatment will be carried out personally by Dr Bong. Most practitioners use only three injections per side. However, Dr Bong’s extensive experience in this procedure enables him to offer the advanced version of this treatment which involves six injections per side.
Jawline slimming with Botox® is a gradual procedure, and results are often only visible after three weeks.
The procedure consists of 6 small Botox® injections in the masseter muscles. Dr Bong is well known for performing virtually pain-free Botox® injections, thanks to his unique skills and expertise and the ultra-fine needles we use. These needles are so delicate that treatment is less painful than plucking your eyebrows! Anaesthesia is not necessary and not helpful.
Yes. You will not have any problems with that. This treatment leaves the masseter muscles – often overactive in these patients – partially relaxed, causing them to become less active. This, in turn, brings their size down. A Botox® masseter procedure will not affect your ability to eat or talk.
Jawline slimming injection is customised for every patient. However, there are a few reasons why the injections might not have created an improvement.
• There are many brands of Botulinum Toxin Type-A available. Be wary and avoid other versions, which may be counterfeit, water-down versions, or “Chinese Botox”, which can yield unreliable and potentially dangerous results.
• Poor technique – It is crucial that a skilled and experienced doctor carries out this procedure for you.
• Too few units – Each patient has a unique dosage, and treatments should be customised for their anatomy.
• Follow-up treatments – jawline slimming injection requires a series of treatments so that each treatment can build on the last and have the most impact.
• Poor habits– Those who do not discontinue chewing gum, consuming chewy foods and so on will have less dramatic results.
We usually charge £320 for this treatment. However, this treatment is unique to each individual, depending upon various factors. To get an exact costing, please schedule a consultation with Dr Bong for him to design a bespoke treatment approach and address any concerns that you have. The consultation is entirely free of charge.
We accept cash or the following major credit and debit cards. We do not accept personal cheques.
If you are a new patient, a booking fee will be taken at the point of making your appointment. Please read our full terms and conditions here.
We respect that your time is valuable, and we appreciate that you understand ours is too. Unfortunately, if appointments are cancelled or rescheduled at short notice, or if you do not attend an appointment, we cannot allocate your appointment slot to someone else; however, we still have overheads and staff salaries to pay. Please read our full terms and conditions here.
Please note for all patients, a £50 fee will be charged if you cancel or reschedule ANY appointment (including appointments which do not require an upfront deposit, such as a ‘check-up’ or review appointment) less than 48 hours before the appointment time. Patients who have pre-purchased a course of treatment will forfeit one of the treatments instead of paying this fee.
Late arrival to your appointment may result in reduced treatment time or the forfeiting of the appointment. We will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs on time. However, for reasons beyond our control, we may need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice. In this unlikely event, we will try to contact you in advance. We do not offer compensation if we cancel or postpone your appointment.
Please read our full terms and conditions here.
To help our patients minimise the chance of losing their deposit or pre-paid treatments, we issue text reminders a minimum of 48 hours ahead of appointments. Patients should be aware that there may be reasons beyond our control, meaning that the text message does not reach them. Patients should diarise themselves when making follow-up appointments and not rely solely on the text message from the clinic as a reminder.
