It was arguably an intense competition for the Miss Scotland 2024 title that took place on August 24th. After numerous trials, including sporting and fashion tests and charity presentations, the crown and the responsibility to represent Scotland at Miss World were awarded to the stunning Amy Scott.
Amy, 24, is a wedding and events coordinator from Strathaven. Her dynamic, multifaceted skill set, impressive performance in the competitions, and deep understanding of relatable societal issues contributed to her well-deserved title. Olivia Maree Wilson was a close contender, securing the first runner-up position, whereas Sasha Elizabeth energetically fought her way to rank third.
Among the distinguished jury panel presiding over the competition was Dr Kieren Bong from Essence Medical, who was revisiting as a head judge. Known for his firm commitment to brilliance and excellence, Dr Bong’s role supports the competition’s rigorous criteria.
The ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ (BWAP) project played a significant role in Miss Scotland’s titles, and Amy displayed immense passion and dedication towards hers. The new queen’s BWAP project involves raising funds and spreading awareness for the MS Society in its mission to counteract Multiple Sclerosis. Taking incumbency as the new Miss Scotland, her ambition resonates through her vows to drive forward her advocacy efforts.
