PHOTO-READY SKIN

Instant Radiation

Red Carpet Ready

Innovative use of Botox®

The effects are fabulous! There are no more frozen faces, just a look of having returned from a refreshed and radiant holiday!

A radiant complexion can light up a room and highlight your youthful features. Luminous, toned skin is associated with youth, but as we age, our complexions begin to dull, and the skin’s texture deteriorates. Stress, hormonal changes, smoking, and daily sun exposure all contribute to the ageing of our skin.

In the past, soft tissue fillers have been used to plump up wrinkles and lines. However, in recent years, innovative ways to enhance the natural beauty of the skin on your face and neck have been introduced.

Popularised by Australian celebs who desire dewy, luminous skin, the PhotoReady is specially designed to deliver these multiple benefits using a combination of hyaluronic acid skin booster and Botox® aided by a revolutionary injection device.

Frequently Asked Questions

PhotoReady is a revolutionary treatment available only at Essence Medical Cosmetic Clinic. Its breakthrough treatment protocol combines hyaluronic acid (HA) skin booster with Botox and is injected into the skin with an innovative device. This unique treatment protocol aims to give your skin a ‘red carpet look,’ i.e. minimise pores, soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and give your skin a soft, smooth glow.

HA attracts moisture, which super hydrates the skin. Tiny doses of Botox reduce the action of the facial muscles’ superficial layer and skin fibres. This softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and also decreases the action of sweat and sebaceous glands. This improves the sheen of the skin, smoothens the skin surface and tightens pores while maintaining facial mobility and expression.

Studies have shown that the PhotoReady treatment also stimulates your skin’s collagen production, explaining why, over the following 2-3 weeks, you will notice subtle lifting of your facial contour, together with more radiant, luminous skin.

This type of treatment has been very popular in Asia and Australasia for some time. In June 2017, Dr Bong was invited to speak at an Australia conference and came across this revolutionary device. Dr Bong coined the word ‘PhotoReady’ to reflect the results which can be achieved with this treatment. Dr Bong purchased this machine, brought it back to the UK and introduced this treatment to his patients in Europe. Dr Bong has a unique treatment protocol for the most effective results.

Not at all. Initially conceived in Europe, Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive technique involving the intra- or subcutaneous injection of variable mixtures of natural plant extracts, homoeopathic agents, pharmaceuticals, vitamins, and other bioactive substances in microscopic quantities through dermal multi-punctures. Its application in cosmetic medicine is gaining in popularity. However, their safety and efficacy remain ambiguous despite their attraction as purported rejuvenating injections. Mesotherapy is shrouded in mystery, and the controversy surrounding its efficacy and potential adverse effects are subject to much concern.

On the other hand, the Skin Hydrating Booster used in the PhotoReady treatment is a unique hyaluronic acid-based skin enhancer which prevents premature skin ageing, restores skin density and maintains skin glow. It combines natural components (called Dermo-Restructuring Complex), all synergically involved in redensifying the dermis and providing antioxidant protection: 3 potent antioxidants, 2 minerals, 1 vitamin and 8 amino acids – all of which are naturally present in the skin.

The PhotoReady Skin Hydrating Booster has been clinically proven to instantly hydrate the skin, promoting luminosity and evening out blotchy skin tone caused by photodamage.

Unlike mesotherapy, PhotoReady injection is considered a medical procedure insofar as Botox is a prescription-only medication.

We have a winning formula by combining a breakthrough treatment protocol, a state-of-the-art device, and Dr Bong’s expertise. Photoready is a revolutionary treatment available only at Essence Medical Cosmetic Clinic.

1) PhotoReady Injector Device – Dr Bong is the only doctor in the UK with this revolutionary device. It is unique – allowing a uniform and precise dosage of Dr Bong’s proprietary compound (a combination of hyaluronic acid skin hydrating booster and Botox) to be injected into the exact depth of the skin with unparalleled accuracy.

2) PhotoReady Treatment Protocol – one of the world’s most renowned cosmetic doctors, Dr Bong has extensive experience and knowledge in the field of cosmetic dermatology. His exclusive PhotoFinish treatment protocol is one of a kind, combining high potency skin hydrating booster with Botox.

3) PhotoReady Skin Hydrating Booster – this is the latest award-winning rejuvenation product on the market today. It has been formulated to provide deep skin hydration specifically and is suitable for all skin types. It contains a unique and patented formula with a high concentration of natural and free HA alongside a combination of antioxidants, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. It is clinically proven to treat the face, area under the eyes, neck, decolletage and hands. Visible improvements to the quality and texture of the skin can be seen even after just one treatment, resulting in firmer and smoother skin that is more elastic and radiant.

The PhotoReady Skin Hydrating Booster can also help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and imperfections such as acne scars by providing hydration deep down within the skin. It can be used independently or as part of an overall treatment programme to help you achieve a natural, fresh look.

4) PhotoReady Skin Botox – Dr Bong’s unique dilution formula involves tiny doses of Botox to reduce the action of the superficial layer of the facial muscles and skin fibres. This softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and also decreases the action of sweat and sebaceous glands. This improves the sheen of the skin, smoothens the skin surface and tightens pores while still maintaining facial mobility and expression.

The commonly treated areas are the face (including the area under the eyes), neck and decolletage. It specifically addresses:

• Crepey skin
• Uneven and dull skin tone
• Dehydrated skin
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Acne scars

You can expect results between 5 days to 2 weeks after undergoing the PhotoReady treatment.

Stop all supplements and medications which thin the blood. Over-the-counter supplements containing Fish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Garlic, Gingko, and Green tea must be stopped 72 hours before the treatment. This includes non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin. Please note: Do not stop Aspirin if you take this for medical reasons. We also recommend you refrain from taking alcohol or caffeine-containing beverages such as Coca-Cola, coffee, tea or Redbull at least 24 hours before the treatment. All of the above helps minimise the risk of bruising and bleeding.

It is by no means a painful treatment. However, most patients described the sensation as a rubber band that snapped your skin. There is an option for you to have topical anaesthetics applied before the treatment, although there may be an extra charge for this. Please discuss this with our cosmetic doctor during the consultation.

At the injection sites, it is normal to experience mild redness. There may be visible papules (small and localised mosquito-bite-like swelling) for 6-12 hours. Whilst uncommon, there may be localised bruising, which should resolve itself within a day or two. Mineral makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure.

You may apply mineral makeup immediately after the treatment. However, avoid using skin care products until the following morning. Also, avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours; if any lumps are noticeable, massage the area to flatten them out.

Whilst visible results can be seen after just one treatment, it is the cumulative results one month after the second PhotoReady session that are the most exciting! We recommend that you have two consecutive treatments, 3-4 weeks apart. Gradually following each session, the complexion and texture of the skin should look increasingly radiant, and the skin should become firmer. A European multi-centre study showed a 67% improvement in complexion radiance in the face, a 69% improvement in hydration, and an 83% improvement in fine lines and wrinkles.

One of the significant advantages of this treatment is that the effects are long-lasting. However, the results are not permanent. Duration depends on factors such as your skin type, lifestyle and age. After the initial two treatments, follow-up sessions are typically recommended around every 6 to 12 months.

However, the results are not permanent – duration depends on many factors, including your skin type, lifestyle and age. Typically the treatment only takes 20 minutes to complete. Most people feel comfortable returning to their normal activities immediately after their appointment. Mineral makeup may be applied directly after the treatment.
