PLEXR SKIN TIGHTENING

Essence Medical Cosmetic Clinic was the first clinic in Scotland and one of the first few in the UK to offer this exciting treatment of advanced Plasmas Fibroblast.

This innovative technology utilizes plasma – formed through ionizing atmospheric gasses – to stimulate instant contraction and tighten skin fibres. This technology does not use a scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all risks inherent to the traditional intervention. In addition, the treatment is performed without cutting, burning or removing excess skin or fat.

The treatment is performed through minute spots made with the Plexr device at a certain distance, one from the other, to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. Each of these spots sublimates the superficial corneocytes without affecting the basal laminae, causing bleeding and, more importantly, causing any damage to the surrounding tissue and the ones beneath.

More powerful than those offered by beauticians the treatments – Prices start from £400.

This innovative technology utilises plasma – formed through ionising atmospheric gasses – to stimulate instant contraction and tighten skin fibres. This technology does not use a scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all risks inherent to the traditional intervention. This treatment is carried out exclusively by our specialist cosmetic doctor, Dr Kieren Bong. Theoretically, this device can be used over the entire body for skin tightening. However, at Essence Medical, we use this device only for tightening upper and lower eyelids, and an occasional brow lift. This is because we believe in offering our patients the best result. By sub-specialising in brow lift and non-surgical blepharoplasty, we can hone our skills and expertise in providing the safest and most effective results.

Treatment takes around 30 minutes, depending on the area(s) of the face being treated. Local anaesthetics injection is administered before the procedure to minimise the risk of discomfort during the process.

Immediately after treatment, the treated area(s) will be pretty red and mildly swollen. Mild encrustations/discolouration will be seen in the treated area(s). You will be given some medications to help with the swelling and discomfort. Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and last 2-3 days. This should resolve within 5-7 days.

Results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the following 2-4 weeks.

The treatment stimulates instant contraction and shortening of skin fibres, which continues to take effect in the first 2-4 weeks. The impact of the treatment is subjective to several treatments and your ageing process but typically may last a few years. You will age as you would otherwise, and your skin will continue to lengthen and relax as part of the ageing process. We recommend repeat treatment 12 months after the initial procedure.

The number of treatments required will vary according to the severity of the laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s physiological response to the treatment. Our specialist cosmetic doctor has extensive experience in this treatment and is one of the few doctors in Europe to use the advanced technique and protocol for maximum results. As a result, our patients have seen superior results compared to other practitioners, which only offer a basic treatment protocol. Most of our patients see results instantly, which continues to improve over the following 2-4 weeks.

You may wish for further treatment to get a better result, although it is unusual for anyone to require more than two treatments. If you want a second treatment, this should be carried out at 6-8 weekly intervals.

Plexr™ (the device’s name) is safe with full European CE approval. To date, about 1700 Plexr devices have been sold worldwide. However, only doctors who have received special training are authorised to perform this treatment.

Dr Bong is widely recognised as one of Europe’s top cosmetic doctors. He is one of only a few doctors in Europe with the experience and skills to offer the advanced technique and protocol for a more effective result.

If you are frustrated by the loose skin in your upper and lower eyelids or the heaviness of your eyebrows and seeking a non-surgical, virtually pain-free solution to skin tightening and brow lift, then the Plexr plasma brow lift and non-surgical eye lift blepharoplasty could be your answer. We encourage all our prospective patients to make an appointment for a face-to-face consultation so that we can advise if you are a good candidate for this treatment.

Dr Bong is one of only a few doctors in Europe with the experience and skills to offer advanced techniques and protocol. The cost of your Plexr treatment depends on the size of the area(s), the area(s) of the face being treated, and the number of areas you wish to treat in one treatment session.

The cost for upper eyelid treatment typically starts from £400 per treatment for both sides, and if you have both the upper and lower eyelids treated in one treatment session, this will cost from £500. The exact cost of your treatment will be advised following your consultation.

We accept cash or the following major credit and debit cards. We do not accept personal cheques.

If you are a new patient, a booking fee will be taken at the point of making your appointment.  Please read our full terms and conditions here.

We respect that your time is valuable, and we appreciate that you understand ours is too. Unfortunately, if appointments are cancelled or rescheduled at short notice, or if you do not attend an appointment, we cannot allocate your appointment slot to someone else; however, we still have overheads and staff salaries to pay. Please read our full terms and conditions here.

Please note for all patients, a £50 fee will be charged if you cancel or reschedule ANY appointment (including appointments which do not require an upfront deposit, such as a ‘check-up’ or review appointment) less than 48 hours before the appointment time. Patients who have pre-purchased a course of treatment will forfeit one of the treatments instead of paying this fee.

Late arrival to your appointment may result in reduced treatment time or the forfeiting of the appointment. We will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs on time. However, for reasons beyond our control, we may need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice. In this unlikely event, we will try to contact you in advance. We do not offer compensation if we cancel or postpone your appointment.
